On the way

By car, train or plane

By car

From the Netherlands

From the central Netherlands it is roughly 900 to 1,000 km, about 9 to 10 hours of driving. The most common route runs via Munich and Kufstein, then via St. Johann in Tirol or through the Brixental to Kitzbühel and on along the B161 to Jochberg.

Tolls and vignette

Austrian motorways

You need a vignette for Austrian motorways, also available digitally. The first stretch of the A12 between the border and Kufstein-Süd is vignette-free. Check the current rules on asfinag.at before you leave.

By train

Kitzbühel station

The nearest railway station is Kitzbühel, about 10 km away. From there the bus runs towards Jochberg, Pass Thurn and Mittersill.

By plane

Salzburg, Innsbruck or Munich

The nearest airports are Salzburg (approx. 80 km) and Innsbruck (approx. 100 km); Munich airport is about 180 km away. From the airport continue by hire car, train or transfer.

Once you are here

Jochberg without a car

In winter the ski bus runs between Kitzbühel, Jochberg, the Pass Thurn and Mittersill, free with a valid ski pass. The ÖBB train between St. Johann in Tirol and Kitzbühel Hahnenkamm is also free with a KitzSki ticket (daily 07:50–18:00, in ski clothing). In the village itself the SPAR, restaurants and the Wagstättbahn valley station are within walking distance.
