Hiking and exploring

How to enjoy Jochberg in summer

Hundreds of kilometres of marked trails run around Jochberg, from a short stroll through the village to mountain hikes across the Kitzbühel Alps. A few tips to get you started:

Hike · 85 m waterfall

Sintersbach waterfall

The Sintersbach drops 85 metres into natural pools. From the Schradlern car park you get there in about an hour; as a loop via the Jochberger Wildalm and the Drachensteig it is 9.3 km (about 4 hours).

Family walk · 4.1 km

Jochberger Wasserweg

A gentle loop of about 1.5 hours through the village, past old springs, the Vorderkünstler farmhouse museum, the Wagstättbahn valley station and the forest pool, and back along the Jochberger Ache.

Mountain hike

Jochberger Höhenweg

A high trail with wide views over the southern Kitzbühel mountains. Ideal for a day up high, without any climbing.

Swimming

Waldschwimmbad Jochberg

An idyllic open-air pool at the edge of the forest – a lovely way to cool off after a warm day of hiking.

Church and pilgrimage

Jochberg Wald

A gently rising walk to the pilgrimage church of Jochberg Wald, with fine views over the valley.

Mining history

Kupferplatte show mine

The old copper mine of Jochberg shows how ore was mined here for centuries. Please note: the mine is closed for renovation in the 2026 season.

Cycling and cable cars

Up the mountain by bike and lift

Plenty of mountain bike and e-bike routes run around Kitzbühel, and several KitzSki cable cars operate in summer too. The KitzSki & Bike Card covers them in summer and winter. For bikes and bike servicing, head to Bikeladl in the village, the summer shop of Schiladl.
